It's October and while the government may have shut down that doesn't mean you have to. In fact, it's probably a great time to hone some of your homesteading skills, you know, just in case. We've already started making our own sausages, applesauce, and jam (among other things). It's pumpkin, apple, and squash time, and you can finally break out the brown liquors without getting funny looks (although we don't think there's ever a bad time for bourbon). Football is in full swing and it's the perfect excuse for extended Sunday Fundays, which should definitely include tapping random objects and filling them with beer like that pumpkin above. Also, we're hitting the road to check out St. Louis, Kansas City, Madison, and Chicago, so send us your recommendations for your favorite eats, drinks, shops, and sights.

In the meantime, keep checking in with us on the blog (because we're awesome and you are too), and follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, because just like leaves in the fall, you can never get enough Red and Brown. --Red & Brown
