It's 2013 and I have to say, I'm a little disappointed. In the 80s, young Brown was tantalized with promises of food in pill form (which thankfully hasn't happened), flying cars (c'mon Elon Musk, get on it), and jet packs (explosions = no thank you). While I'm happy that my phone has more computing power than the Apollo 11 moon landing, I'm a little disappointed in the lack of progress otherwise.
Luckily, the Mitchell brothers are the best kind of mad scientists to usher in the 21st century, the kind that mix technology and drinking. These guys are well on their way to producing an automated counter top brewing system, the PicoBrew Zymatic, that takes the hassle out of home brewing. You just download your favorite recipe, add the ingredients, and off you go. While the $1,299 price tag is out of reach for this intrepid brewstronaut, I'm already plotting out counter space for when they hit full production and are just as easy to pick up as a six-pack. In the meantime, check out their Kickstarter page and help be a part of the future of beer. --Brown
